Testimonials

“I find [The Uniform Commercial Code Made Easy] extraordinarily useful in making commercial law available to businessmen and students in business schools of the country, and as ancillary reading for law students. [Rob] made it so simple.”

Soia Mentschikoff, Associate Chief Reporter to the UCC; Consultant to the Permanent Editorial Board of the UCC; Dean, University of Miami School of Law; Professor of Law, University of Chicago, Harvard, Columbia

“Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus! In this case he comes in the form of former University of Miami School of Law professor Robert M. LeVine, who has made one of the most complicated bodies of law in the United States—the Uniform Commercial Code—not only comprehensible but entertaining.”

Thomas R. Schuck past national president of the Federal Bar Association and a partner at Taft Stettinius & Hollister LLP in Cincinnati; co-author of Reutter’s Federal Employment Litigation, published by Thomson/Reuter’s.

“THIS BOOK BELONGS IN THE HANDS OF EVERY SMALL BUSINESS OWNER IN AMERICA! In retrospect I realize how blindly I had journeyed while establishing my practice/small business. I depended on my bank, vendors and minor legal assistance to guide me through the process. I would have been so much better equipped with the wisdom and guidance of this easy to read and understand book. I thoroughly enjoyed the story format of Stephen’s business adventure!”

Kimberly Fabre, DDS, PA

“I was amazed. I never thought it possible to make the UCC interesting. But I was wrong. For once I had read a book that made me understand the contents and interrelationships of the Code sections and at the same time I enjoyed reading it.”

F.William Harvey, JD, Wharton MBA. Former Financial Comptroller for Citibank International

Rob’s book is a unique quantity. It presents in understandable terms an area of law which is of interest to every businessman….It is interesting, easy to read, and substantively accurate. …The book will sell a million copies.

John T. Gaubatz, Professor of Law, University of Miami School of Law, JD Harvard; Co-Author, Federal Taxation of Estates, Trusts and Gifts

The author made a traditionally “dry and difficult document” come to life by presenting the UCC through an engaging story that most “folks” could easily picture themselves doing and living. And then went on to teach me the finer points of the Uniform Commercial Code by drilling down into the exact details of the document.

In addition, the use of a simple… clean… and open layout of the UCC Made Easy manual, plus the professional use of “easy on the eyes” typography fonts… really helped me move through the contents quickly and easily.

And by alternating the easy breezy story format with the logical legalese language of the UCC… the author helped to give my brain a break… before he took me on a mentally challenging journey… deep into the structure and meaning of the code.

This book is a highly effective and entertaining attempt by the author, Robert LeVine, to teach the UCC in a manner that is both contextually realistic and legally accurate. If more books like this existed, other “Code” based classes would be significantly better understood by lawyers and business people alike. If you are a professor, make this book required reading. If you are a student of the law, buy this book. It’s worth every penny.

Michael Milleton, Attorney, Tampa, FL 2013

To make a complex matter simple takes great insight, not only into the subject matter, but also into how people learn. The author takes the reader/student on a whirlwind tour touching each major section of the UCC. He weaves the technical into the practical with a story that anyone with an interest or need in the subject will grasp. If you read this first, you will have a conceptual understanding to build on.

Student Endorsements

If you have struggled in law school with the case-method, are studying for the Bar exam or just want to know what the UCC is and how it is applicable in your every day life, I highly recommend this book. The book takes a real world example of a man (Stephen) wanting to establish a boat dealership. As the book moves forward, the UCC is pieced apart section by section to help the reader understand and recollect the information through the journey of Stephen and his boats. Do some research on the author and you will find that he is truly on to new-aged teaching methods enabling you to truly unlock the true potential of your brain.

Conner Kempe, JD 2014

I had a privilege to study under Professor LeVine and used his text book along with other materials for the course. The author is not just a law professor, not just a text book writer, but higher than that – he is an extraordinary man. I leave it to you to explore his credentials and life story. I am not here to talk about him, but to leave my comments of the text book itself.

This text book was the easiest of all law text books that I have read in my three years in law school. It translated the dry UCC codes into plain English. It took out most of the code abstracts and replaced them with a practical story demonstrating how and where the codes are applicable. I read it with ease and enjoyment, and found it hard to put it down. I even smiled at times with the Stephen’s story in the book. Sounds weird for a law-code text? Do not take my word – try it for yourself and draw your own judgment. Any readers with an interest in the UCC would find this text book to be a road map into this area of law. If you are a business person trying to understand the UCC code, this book is probably the closest touch to the law that you are trying to understand.

H. Le; PhD; MS; BS; JD   Tampa, FL 2014

“It’s true. The UCC is just as daunting as it looks, and this book is the key to unlocking its mysteries. Infused with practicality, The Uniform Commercial Code Made Easy combines every day transactions with straightforward law, allowing students to not only navigate the UCC with ease, but also develop a lasting understanding of the material. The Uniform Commercial Code Made Easy’s revolutionary approach to the UCC has extensive application both in and out of the classroom as a resource for professors and a study aid for students. The Uniform Commercial Code Made Easy by LeVine was my key to success in understanding the UCC, and enjoying it!”

Melissa Carroll, Stetson University College of Law 2012

“A must read for every law student…EVERY law student.  I have never encountered a book on such a complicated topic that has been such an enjoyable read.  LeVine takes the study of the UCC, the longest and most elaborate of the uniform acts, and allows the reader to actually become a part of the learning process through his interactive writing style.  This is one book that will always be a part of my collection.
